  • Bleiker Upper Secondary School – ash slats and fire-rated glass in a school environment

When Bleiker Upper Secondary School in Asker was expanded in 2022, Vyrk supplied carefully adapted solutions that combine function, design and safety.

The project is an important part of the investment in the school buildings of the future, where capacity has been expanded to accommodate up to 900 students and around 160 members of staff.

Vyrk supplied modern slatted elements in the dimension of 24×30 mm, made of plywood veneered with ash. The slats are mounted on a black acoustic cloth that dampens sound and creates a warm atmosphere in both common areas and classrooms. Vyrk has also supplied fire-rated glass panels that meet the school's safety requirements – while creating transparency and letting daylight into the rooms.

Bleiker Upper Secondary School at Risenga offers both vocational subjects, general studies and adapted education. In the new premises, students and teachers can enjoy rooms where both sound, light and safety are provided through a well-thought-out choice of materials.
