  • Fjellhamar School – fire-rated lacquered plywood for Norway's largest primary school

For the new Fjellhamar School – Norway's largest primary school – Vyrk has contributed materials that both meet strict technical requirements and create a good learning environment for pupils.

Vyrk has supplied pine plywood with two different surface treatments: fire-rated varnish, where required by building regulations, and pigmented varnish in a similar colour on other surfaces. This ensures that the walls have the same appearance regardless of fire safety requirements.

We have also supplied fire-rated glass walls (EI30 and EI60) that are also sound-laminated to prevent noise from spreading between the classrooms.

When many children gather in one place, both fire safety and the sound environment become particularly important. Vyrk's materials help the school meet both needs, while the wood panels add warmth and texture to the rooms.
